What makes our stew better than the rest?
Unmatched Flavour
Our red wine sauce takes a classic beef stew recipe to a whole new level. The red wine's complex tannins, fruity notes, and acidity cut
through the richness of the beef to deepen the savory taste that we all love. As the stew simmers, the alcohol evaporates and the sauce
reduces into a mouthwatering broth. This addition transforms the dish to a more elegant and full bodied version of a dish we all love.
Comfort in a Bowl
Beef stew is the definition of comfort food and provides warmth with every bite. The savoury broth, juicy beef chunks, and
assorted vegetables create a blend of flavours that can be appreciated by everyone. Many would agree that this classic dish
provides a sense of nostalgia associated with home cooked meals and cozy gatherings. The slow cooking process tenderizes the
meat to perfection and allows the flavours to combine into one satisfying bowl. This versatile meal can be adapted to meet
many dietary preferences making it a reliable and hearty meal for all.
My History
My journey didn’t begin in culinary school, but rather in my grandmother’s kitchen in Edmonton. Where this stew recipe was
pass down to me as it had been passed down to her. She taught me to appreciate the magic cooking and to trust my senses
over a measuring cup. This early knowledge was refined through years of professional training and culinary school. This
dish brought me the first-place prize at my local cooking competition despite its simplicity. I can’t wait to share this
delicious dish with you and hopefully spark or rekindle your love for the culinary arts.
Premium Ingredients
The excellence of this beef stew is rooted in the quality of its ingredients. A premium and well-marbled beef chuck roast will become
mouthwatering after it’s time simmering in the pot. The sweet carrots, earthy potatoes, and fragrant celery should be fresh from local
farms when possible, in order to really meet this dishes potential. For the wine, I recommend a good full-bodied red like Cabernet
Sauvignon or Merlot. Finally, a bouquet of fresh herbs like thyme, rosemary, and bay leaf will elevate the stew to its competition
winning potential.
